Beats Music will include a new feature called “Right Now” that allows users to create a playlist based on a location, an activity, a person, and a genre of music. Example: “I’m at the beach & feel like pre-partying with my friends to dance-pop” creates a playlist with Chemical Brothers, Lady Gaga and Janet Jackson.

Nine Inch Nails front man Trent Reznor serves as the chief creative officer for Beats Music.

“My phone knows where I’m at, what I’m up to, what temperature it is,” said Reznor. “It might even start to recognize locations I visit, patterns of motion. What if music could be collected in little parcels and served up to me effortlessly?”
