Even though Jadakiss admits that The Lox’s surprise release of their Trinity EP was a “last minute decision”, the group maintains that Beyonce’s similar release strategy did not influence their decision:

The Hip Hop scene is different than it was in the late 90s/early 2000’s when The Lox entered the scene. In 1998, songs such as DMX’s gritty “Get At Me Dog” were Top 10 rap singles. Before December 18th, the last time the world saw Sheek Louch, Jadakiss and Styles P commercially release an album as The Lox was 2000’s We Are The Streets. According to the trio, fans can anticipate solo albums from each of the Lox members as well as multiple albums and EP’s in 2014.
