TMZ is reporting that producers of the awards show ordered Miguel not to jump over the audience during his performance. Apparently, they told the R&B star that the idea was too dangerous.

According to the producers, Miguel ignored their order and performed the jump anyway. As a result Khyati Shah was hit with the leg drop seen ’round the world.

Miguel has yet to comment publicly about the victim’s head trauma claims or Billboard producers saying that he was not to attempt the jump.
