If you’re a fan of the Wu, then you know The Rza knows his Kung Fu flicks just like the ill samples and drums he’s chopped up to make hit after hit for the Wu-Tang Clan. Now with his new flick coming out on November 2 – dubbed The Man with the Iron Fists, presented by Quentin Tarantino, and directed by the man himself – he’s become fully embedded in the culture of martial arts films.
Teaming with artists from around the world, Universal Pictures and Ignition Print commemorate the November 2 theatrical release of Man with the Iron Fists with a 16-piece graphic outdoor poster series. The result is a revolutionary collage of beautiful, stylized, provocative art created by a group of designers as varied as the posters themselves. From a retired Japanese woodblock printer, to an indie South African illustrator, to a guy from Detroit who makes band posters with Sharpies – every artist injected his or her unique sensibility and love of Kung-Fu into the project.
In addition, all of the posters will be available for fans to tear off and take home from outdoor locations throughout in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, and Philadelphia prior to the film’s November 2 release.
In honor of the milestone achievement for RZA and the Wu-Tang Clan brand, AllHipHop.com will be giving away five (5) signature posters and a Grand Prize that includes a “The Man with the Iron Fists” poster, t-shirt, beanie, bandana and cufflinks.
