EXCLUSIVE: Rapper Yo Gotti Accused Of Stealing "28 Bars" Track

(AllHipHop News) Memphis, Tennessee rapper Yo Gotti is the subject of a lawsuit that claims he stole his popular song “28 Bars.”

Eric Dion Flemming filed the lawsuit against Yo Gotti and his manager Brandon Cottrell, in United States District Court, for the Middle District of Tennessee, Nashville Division.

According to the lawsuit, which was filed on June 6, Flemming claims that he submitted a musical composition that was provided to an artist name Starlito, who is signed to Yo Gotti’s Inevitable Entertainment.

According to Flemming, Starlito provided a copy of the track to Yo Gotti, who used it for his track “28 Bars.”

The track was offered for sale through a variety of online music retailers, including iTunes, eMusic, CdBaby, Amazon, Spotify, Rhapsody, Datpiff and others.

The track also appeared on a variety of mixtapes, including “All Things White,” “DJ Scream Presents: Cocaine Muzik 3,” “On My Own, Yo Gotti – 5 Star General” and others.

Popular video producer Jordan Tower of Jordan Tower Films is also named in the lawsuit, for producing and directing a video for “28 Bars.”

Flemming said that he e-mailed Yo Gotti about the track, and Yo Gotti did not deny the infringement.

Dion Flemming is suing for copyright infringement and seeks a trial by jury, to determine damages.
