Jay Z No Longer Pursuing Extortion Charges Against Former Engineer

LAPD DROPS CASE AGAINST ENGINEER ACCUSED OF EXTORTING JAY Z FOR MASTERS RECORDINGS

(AllHipHop News) In other Jay Z related news, the Hip Hop mogul has decided not to continue with extortion charges against Chauncey Mahan according to TMZ. Jay alleged Mahan attempted to squeeze him out of $100,000 for the return of 5 years worth of master recordings.

Mahan denied the accusations and said he was given the masters to keep safe by Jigga’s label Def Jam. He also stated he reached out to the Roc Nation boss’ team on numerous accusations, but he never received a response.

Los Angeles police are dropping its investigation on the matter. The department will still keep possession of the masters until the situation is settled by a judge.
