(AllHipHop News) New Orleans Hip Hop/bounce legend Juvenile has crafted a multiplatinum 15+ year recording career, but he will turn into a vengeful gangsta for his role in the movie The Power of Few.
Shot in New Orleans and directed by Leone Marucci, the crime drama tells the story of a bloody afternoon from three different perspectives, with Juvenile’s character playing a central role in the third act.
Juvenile told Nola.com that the prospect of working some of his favorite actors was one of the main reasons for his signing on to the film:
To be honest, when they said Christian Slater and Christopher Walken and Anthony Anderson — right there that’s three people that I really like. I watch their movies. I watch ‘Mobsters,’ I watch ‘King of New York,’ I watch the movies that Anthony’s done with my fellow rapper DMX in the beginning. I’ve seen him do movies that I’ve loved a lot, like ‘Barbershop.’
In addition to being in front of screen, the 37-year-old veteran has plans to be apart of the film’s soundtrack and possibly enlisting some new artists. Juvenile’s recent mixtape with DJ Slob1 and his son, Young Juve’s mixtape “Son of A Hot Boy” are both featured on Juvenile’s website JuvieTheGreat.com
The Power of Few will debut on February 22nd to select theatres in Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Los Angeles.
