Rising emcee TwonDon tapped fellow East Coast representative Smoke DZA to serve as the executive producer for his 9-track debut EP Stay Golden. The New Jersey rhymer’s lyrical presentation features the jazzy “Glory,” the soulful “Ghostwriter,” the dark “All Thee Above,” and more.
DZA also makes an appearance on the cut “Too Committed” with Twon. In addition, Stay Golden includes words from Nas presented through a vocal sample from the Hip Hop icon. Ico Beats, Evan Haynes, Dzo Beats, ItsGoodBeats, Brandon Lee, and Dreamlife Beats provided production for the collection.
“I’ve never been one to bring my personal life into my music until I started writing the records for Stay Golden. As my debut project, I made it my business to make sure my audience and listeners finally get a chance to know me on a different level,” TwonDon tells AllHipHop. “Since meeting Smoke DZA back in March, he’s been one of the most genuine individuals and mentors. When he heard I was working on my project, he immediately jumped on board to help me come correct. Stay Golden is my ups, my downs – my struggle, my success, plus more.”
