AHH Stray News: DMX, Lil Kim, Daz, Channel Live

DMX pleaded guilty Wednesday (Dec. 8) to two misdemeanor charges, including reckless endangerment and driving under the influence of drugs following an incident where the rapper allegedly rushed the gates of New York’s JFK Airport parking lot, according to prosecutors. Under a conditional discharge, DMX, born Earl Simmons, would see jail time if he receives any violations within a year. The Yonkers rapper was also fined and must surrender his 1998 Ford Expedition SUV. Lil’ Kim will star in a new VH1 reality show she’s currently shooting a pilot for. The rapstress recently filmed a segment of the show at Hugo Boss in New York and will shoot in Brooklyn this weekend. Kim’s agenda could cause a time conflict with her scheduled Move Against AIDS Dance-A-Thon at the Javits Center Saturday (Dec. 11), which Kim was to reportedly co-host with Rosie Perez. Kim’s representative said that Kim was "falsely advertised as co-hosting the event" and "will do her best to simply attend." Rapper/producer Daz Dillinger is not only releasing two new albums in 2005, but will tour with Snoop Dogg, along with Pharrell Williams and Soopafly, starting Jan. 20. According to Dillinger, his performances during the four-month tour include songs from previous collaborations with Snoop when the two were members of Tha Dogg Pound. Dillinger’s next album Tha Dogg Pound Gangsta LP drops Jan. 25, with appearances by George Clinton, Nate Dogg and Shorty B. Hip-Hop veterans Channel Live are back with a new 12 inch single in nearly three years. The group, who rose to the top with their platinum selling single “Mad Izm,” recently dropped the single “Mr. President,” a political commentary on the Bush administration. The record was released to radio on December 1st and is currently enjoying regular rotation on various college Hip-Hop stations across the country.
