The Jason “DJ Threat” Campbell Foundation has tapped radio personality Angie Martinez to host the foundation’s third annual Scholarship and Awards ceremony at Show night club in New York. The organization was conceived by DJ Threat’s mother, Becky Campbell, after Threat was fatally injured in a motorcycle accident on May 12, 2001. Threat, 23, had just started DJing at Hot 97 and had also been named East Coast Director Of Promotions for Atlantic Records. The foundation carries on Threat’s love of music and each year presents three students with the Jason”DJ Threat” Campbell Scholarship, to use towards their tuition if they attend a music affilatied school. The music for the evening will be provided by the Turntable Assassins and The Heavy Hitters. The event takes place on Thursday, May 12th.
