Audiogalaxy Hit With Lawsuit

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) filed a copyright lawsuit against popular file sharing service, Audiogalaxy last Friday. The suit, which was filed in Federal Court in New York alleges that Audiogalaxy’s efforts to block copyrighted material have proven to be ineffective. According to Download.com, Audiogalaxy is one of the most popular file sharing services and the software has been downloaded over 30 million times. The company began to filter some copyrighted works last year and while it has had success in blocking some of the files, many continue to be freely traded. The RIAA currently has lawsuits pending against Napster, Morpheus, Kazaa, Grokster, MP3Board and Madster (Aimster.)
