Beyonce Drops Touching Tribute To Lyric Chanel After Child Loses Battle With Brain Cancer

Beyonce

Beyonce dropped an amazing acapella tribute to Lyric Chanel, who fought a 2-year battle against brain cancer.

“I can see your Halo.” ~Beyoncé

Ms. Knowles-Carter sang those lyrics (and more) to Lyric Chanel, the young girl who recently lost a two-year battle with brain cancer on Friday, March 5th.

After hearing about her passing, Queen Bey paid tribute to her life in a very sweet way.

In a collage of pictures, the singer created an acapella medley of “Brown Skin Girl,” “Halo” and “Love on Top.”

While the last song might seem a little odd to sing in honor of the 13-year-old, it was Lyric’s rendition of the song that caught Beyoncé’s attention last year.

In September of 2020, Lyric Chanel posted an old video of her singing the song — prompting the “Black is King” producer to become one of her 600,000 followers on IG, send her some flowers, and write her a sweet note that said the following:

“Honey, Honey. I can see the stars all the way from here. I can feel the sun whenever you’re near. I was so moved to see how these lyrics inspired you, not nearly as much as you inspired me.”

“I can’t wait to meet you one day and I’m so happy you’re home safely. You are a survivor. God bless, B.”
