C-Murder To Stand Trial

Corey "C-Murder" Miller will stand trial in the second-degree murder of 16 year old Steve Thomas last January at a Harvey, New Orleans night club. Miller is accused of shooting Thomas after an argument ensued at Club Platinum, which has since been closed. Miller, who has pleaded not guilty to the crime, was ordered to be held without bail after authorities claimed he bribed two Jefferson Parish officers to smuggle in a cell phone and charger. The prosecutors claim Miller used the phone to communicate with friends in attempt to harm or intimidate witnesses. Despite over 300 people being present and several identifying Miller as the shooter, most were hesitant to come forward and cooperate with police. Miller’s defense claim that he is a victim of mistaken identity. Miller’s trial begins September 17th.
