Queens, New York rap duo Capone-N-Noreaga will return to the rap scene as a group via a new deal with SMC Recordings.
The pair recently signed with the San Francisco-based label to release the long awaited follow up to their gold selling album The Reunion.
According to SMC co-founder Ralph Tashjian, CNN, along with the labels roster, which included Killer Mike and Pastor Troy, will benefit from the freedom that comes with the labels independence.
We have the best of both worldsthe flexibility and connection to the streets of an independent label and the ability to reach the masses that major label distribution affords, Tashjian said.
SMC, which is distributed by Fontana/Universal, also handles the distribution for his Atlanta-based label, Grind Time Official.
There is no release date or album title for Capone-N-Noreagas new album, which is the groups first official release in eight years.
