De La Soul, PE Tapped For Big Ten PSA’s

The Big Ten Conference will debut it’s new public service announcements this weekend entitled “Big Ten Soundtrack,” which features background music by Hip-Hop groups De La Soul and Public Enemy.   The PSA’s, which were created by Chicago-based Team Works Media, will air on CBS Sports, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and The Big Ten Network, starting on December 12th.   Public Enemy’s Big Ten men’s basketball PSA is titled “Give It Up,” which incorporates their 1994 track of the same name, taken from the group’s album Muse Sick-n-Hour Mess Age.   De La Soul’s Big Ten basketball PSA is titled “The Magic Number,” also named after their classic track with the same title, taken from their pioneering album, 3 Feet High and Rising.   In “De La Soul’s PSA, the focus is on the number three using clips of three-point buzzer beaters and exceptional plays executed by athletes wearing the number three on their respective jerseys.   The Big Ten basketball public service announcements kick off on Saturday (December 12th), during the Kentucky vs. Indiana game, which will be broadcast nationally on CBS Sports.
