Department Of Justice Preparing To Sue Ferguson Police Department

THE FEDS WANT THE CITY’S POLICE TO END RACIALLY DISCRIMINATORY TACTICS

(AllHipHop News) The Department of Justice is likely not to pursue civil rights violation charges against former Ferguson, Missouri police officer Darren Wilson for the killing of teenager Michael Brown, but CNN reports U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is preparing to bring a lawsuit against the Ferguson PD.

Results of a DOJ investigation into the death of Brown is expected to reveal a pattern of discrimination by Ferguson police. The potential lawsuit against the department could move forward unless the Ferguson PD changes the racially discriminatory tactics on its own. The feds could request court supervision over the department’s involvement with the local minority community.

“I have received nothing new,” Ferguson Chief Thomas Jackson told CNN. “Everything they suggested in the past has been reasonable and we have tried to comply.”
