At just 18 years and 11 months, Desiigner has become the youngest male artist to hit #1 in 9 years. Desiigner is the youngest artist – regardless of gender – to have a #1 since Lorde’s “Royals” on Oct. 12, 2013. She was 16 years and 11 months old at the time. Desiigner is also the first rap artist to reach the pinnacle of the Hot 100 with a debut single since Iggy Azalea. The Australian rhymer’s “Fancy” featuring Charli XCX landed at #1 on June 7, 2014. A music video for “Panda” and a mixtape titled Trap History Month are on the way from Desiigner. He recently premiered snippets of his second single “Pluto” at the SXSW Festival in March.
