Diddy Still Struggling With B.I.G.’s Death

SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS STILL STRUGGLING WITH NOTORIOUS B.I.G.’S DEATH

(AllHipHop News) The Notorious B.I.G’s death still weighs heavily on his mentor Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

The “Juicy” hitmaker was shot and killed in 1997 and Diddy was with the rapper, real name Christopher Wallace, the night he was murdered.

Twenty years later, he reveals it has been difficult to move past the tragic event.

“That’s something that’s life-changing,” he tells People magazine. “It’s a real heavy weight to wear on yourself.”

“You get guilt when you lose a friend,” he adds. “It could’ve been you. You have to deal with that. It’s a heavy thing.”

Last month, the 47-year-old took to the stage with Wallace’s son, Christopher Jordan, at the Billboard Music Awards to pay tribute to the late rapper and the performance helped him move past the tragedy.

“His son is grown up, mature, classy (and) just a great person,” he continues. “To see that we had a loss but it all worked out, it took some of the stress (away). I was able to pass the legacy to him and now he can carry it on.”

Christopher, also known as CJ Wallace, has previously spoken about his desire to follow in his late father’s footsteps.

“At a young age I always knew I wanted to do music, it was inevitable,” he told London’s Evening Standard. “My family have always had my back, whatever I’ve wanted to do, they’ve supported. They were always giving me advice on what to do and how to go about things.”

Wallace was raised by his singer mother Faith Evans and record company executive Todd Russaw, who she divorced in 2011.
