Embattled, incarcerated rap star DMX could face another eight years in prison, stemming from an incident in an Arizona jail.

DMX, who is serving a 90 day sentence at the Maricopa County Detention Center in Arizona, was recently placed in lock down earlier this month for a prior altercation with a prison guard.

In the previous, verbal altercation, DMX allegedly refused to report to his designated job inside of the jail, in addition to other infractions.

He allegedly became belligerent with the guards and verbally assaulted them, resulting in his being locked down for 23-hours a day, with just bread and water.

Now, DMX, born Earl Simmons, is facing felony aggravated assault charges, for allegedly assaulting a Sheriff Detention Officer.

The rapper, who is reportedly on a bread and water diet, allegedly grabbed a meal that wasn’t his said Maricopa Sheriff County Police spokesperson Lisa Allen.

When a guard ordered the chart-topping rapper to return the food to the rightful owner, the rapper allegedly through the tray at the officer, covering him in the food that was being served.

While he didn’t actually assaulted the guard, Allen said that the incident meets the prison’s definition of assault.

DMX is serving 90 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to animal cruelty counts, theft and two misdemeanor drug charges.
