DMX’s Best Friends Pay Their Respects To Late Rapper After His Sad Death

DMX and Friends

DMX was remembered by his closest friends and associates after he died today at the age of 50, from complications brought on by a drug overdose.

The woeful news of DMX’s death swept across the Hip-Hop like tsunami.

Beloved to so many, the hearing of his demise drowned those who knew him through his music, almost as quickly as it did those that knew the Dark Man X personally.

Almost.

Within moments, the tributes from his peers started to pop up on social media. These posts give even more insight into what an incredible human being he was and how dear he was to his friends and colleagues.

Some of them reflected on his humor and good-spiritedness.

“Let me tell you about the last time I hung out with DMX

– My friend @shireuniversal told me X would be in Cincinnati for a show

– He told me and @davechappelle that he was coming to Yellow Springs to hang out the day after

– His manager said he wanted to cook crab legs for everyone. They were hours late because X was searching for crab legs.

– At the shack we always listen to What You Won’t Do For Love by Bobby Caldwell. X said it was his favorite song and proceeded to prove it.

– The next day, @realjasminleigh I interviewed X for People’s Party. @inkedupjuju and @forthebyrdz helped out. It was one of the best interview experiences I’ve ever had.

– After the interview X took us all out to a hood spot in Cincinnati to play pool and get food. He sang along to all the songs the DJ played. This was a wonderful time. A great experience. Thank you @dmx for such great memories. That last one was one of many you gifted me with. #RIPDMX
