(AllHipHopNews) A drug kingpin who once dominated the New York marijuana market has admitted to his involvement in nine murders and 10 attempted murderers.
According to The New York Daily News, Manuel Geovanny Rodriguez-Perez aka “El Monstruo,” orchestrated a massive drug operation from the early 1990’s until early 2010.
Rodriguez-Perez admitted to putting out dozens of hits over a span of decades to maintain control over the market. The report also states he had a loose connection to Roc-A-Fella Records, the defunct label from the 1990’s.
The Feds began Operation Green Venom in July of 2008. The investigation used over 20 separate wiretaps to infiltrate the crews suspected of running the operation.
Manuel Geovanny Rodriguez-Perez pleaded guilty to one count of racketeering in Manhattan federal court.
He faces up to life in prison.
