Funkmaster Flex turned himself into authorities

on Sunday afternoon, on charges that he allegedly assaulted Steph Luva, a DJ

at Power 105. The misdemeanor charges carries a maximum sentence of one year

in jail, should Flex be guilty. He was ordered to appear in court October 18.

According to reports, the incident took place

outside of the Hot 97 offices on Hudson street Thursday, September 19 shortly

before 12:30 a.m. According to the reports, Steph Luva was talking to friends

when Flex came out of the offices. An argument ensued between the two, resulting

in Flex smacking, punching and choking the 6 foot female. He then allegedly

tossed a wad of money at her, offering it as compensation for any injuries that

may have occurred.

DJ Kut, who was Nelly’s DJ before relocating

to New York to DJ for the The Ed Love & Dr. Dre Morning Show on Power 105,

said bruised ego’s were to blame.

"I didn’t see it coming between those two,"

Kut told AllHipHop.com. "You have a new station that comes in and takes

the city by storm, some people can’t handle the pressure. We just do what we

do. Like my man Jeru said, ‘leave your nines at home and bring your skills to

the battle.’"

Steph Luva was not available for comment, but

spokespeople said that she was considering filing a civil suit against Flex.

Funkmaster Flex told AllHipHop.com that due to the legalities of the case, he

could not comment.
