Just Blaze Stays Busy, Working On 2 Labels

Just Blaze is staying busy, working on a variety of projects. The multi-platinum producer has two beats on Dr. Dre’s next album and he is also working on not one, but two record label deals. On working with Dr. Dre, the producer said he didn’t believe that he would actually be working with someone of Dr. Dre’s stature. "I didn’t even believe that he was gonna call me," Just Blaze told AllHipHop.com. "I was like yeah sure –cause that’s somebody I grew up with, since I was 11 years old. NWA was is still one of my favorite groups of all times, so to get that phone call was kinda crazy." Just Blaze said that he had a special beat ready for Dr. Dre, one that he had made in case the opportunity to work with him ever presented itself. "There was actually one beat that I’ve holding for like 3 years, like ‘I’m gonna meet Dre eventually and when I do I got plans for him,’" Blaze continued. The funny thing is that’s the one beat he’s really really in love with." Just Blaze, who has laid down tracks for the likes of Faith, Janet Jackson, Joe Budden and Jay-Z to name a few, recently lent his production touch to Beanie Sigel and Memphis Bleek. "Beans is getting ready to drop and Bleek’s getting ready to come out, and actually they getting ready to shoot the video for “Everything’s a Go”, which was the last record I did for Bleek right before I came out here [Los Angeles]. While he couldn’t go into details about the two labels that he has planned, Just Blaze was excited about the prospects of running two successful companies. "Basically what it is, is that both deals are in negotiation right now. As soon as they cut the check the right way that will be a go and you will be hearing about that." Blaze said that his success was due to the fact that he is a team player. "It’s not just me, its myself, Nassa Camato, my manager, my partner in this as well I also work with Gee Roberson and Kyambo "Hip Hop" Joshua," Blaze continued. Roberson and Joshua both worked as A&R rep’s for Roc-A-Fella. They are now both Vice Presidents of A&R, Urban Music, for Atlantic Records. "We work as a team. Anything that I come across they are involved in, anything they come across we’re involved in, I guess it’s better when you have four heads working instead of just one."
