Pioneering rapper Kurtis Blow has teamed with the Detroit Branch of the NAACP to help the organization “bury the N word.”   Tomorrow (June 24), Kurtis Blow and Detroit Branch NAACP President Rev. Wendell Anthony will in Detroit.   The pair will reveal details about the mock funeral procession and burial of the racial epitaph, which takes place during the 98th Annual NAACP National Convention.   In March, Blow supported a nonbinding resolution that was passed in New York, calling on residents to stop using the word.   Kurtis Blow is a minister with three “Holy Hip-Hop” churches in Los Angeles, New York and Philadelphia.   He is currently on a 75-city tour promoting Kurtis Blow and The Trinity, the debut from Blow’s new rap group The Trinity.
