Legendary Dance Star Cece Peniston Hopes To “Resolve” Lyric Theft Claims Against Lizzo

Cece Peniston claims Lizzo stole some of her lyrics and used them in her hit song “Truth Hurts.”

(AllHipHop News) Singer Cece Peniston has accused Lizzo of stealing her music.

Just a few days after producers Justin and Jeremiah Raisen claimed the hip-hop and R&B sensation had nabbed a lyric for her chart-topping hit “Truth Hurts” from them, “Finally” star Peniston has offered up another plagiarism allegation.

She has re-shared claims she previously made about Lizzo’s#### “Juice,” stating: “This is a clear example of #copyrightinfringement. Cece Peniston versus @lizzobeeating y’all check this out.”

She alleges the repeated “Ya Ya EE” line in Lizzo’s “Juice” is a copy of her phrasing in “Finally,” her 1991 hit.

But she made it clear she’s still a big fan of Lizzo’s.

Ironically, Lizzo has filed to trademark the phrase “100 percent that b##ch” from “Truth Hurts,” which the Raisens have claimed legally belongs to them.

“This is a really a sensitive issue ..I love #lizzos music and artistry,” Cece Peniston added. “My concern is that lyrics and melody that I wrote in my song #finally are now a part of her song ‘juice’ and I would like for us to resolve this in a positive manner.”
