Mathew Knowles Claims To Have Control Over Destiny’s Child Reuniting

Beyoncé’s dad sits down with talk show host Tamron Hall.

(AllHipHop News) It’s been 15 years since Destiny’s Child released their last studio album Destiny Fulfilled. While Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams have not recorded a full body of work since 2004, fans have gotten a glimpse of them together from time-to-time.

The three ladies performed for the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show in 2013, and they ran through some of their hits during Beyoncé’s headlining set at the 2018 Coachella festival. Additionally, Williams tapped Knowles and Rowland for the 2014 single “Say Yes.”

Will Bey, Kelly, and Michelle formally reunite for another project. Beyoncé’s father and former manager, Mathew Knowles, spoke about the possibility that DC3 might reassemble in the near future.

“I still officially manage [Destiny’s Child]. Every day I have the responsibility of licensing. I have a lot of responsibilities that folks don’t know,” Mathew explained on the Tamron Hall talk show. His new wife of six years, Gena Knowles, joined him on the program.

Hall asked Mathew Knowles if he has any say in whether Destiny’s Child can come back together to record new music under the group’s name. The Alabama native answered, “I do have impact in that decision. I do… The first thing I’m gonna do is replace Michelle with Gena.”

According to Mathew, even if the Destiny’s Child members decided they wanted to come back together for another run, it would be a while before anything materialized. He said, “If today they said yes, it would take two years just in preparation.”
