(AllHipHop News) Robert “Meek Mill” Williams has been a leading advocate in the fight for criminal justice reform. The Championships album creator is next set to take part in an event that will get input on what his hometown’s residents want from their future police commissioner.
Meek is joining with NFL Pro Bowler/Player’s Coalition co-founder Malcolm Jenkins for a town hall on policing in Philadelphia. Jenkins will host the gathering at the Community College of Philadelphia.

“The Mayor will select a new Police Commissioner this year. That choice is critical to restoring the community’s trust and creating a more fair and just system in Philadelphia,” says Jenkins. “Over the last few years, Philadelphia police have been rocked by scandal. And recently, the Plain View Project uncovered over 300 officers who made racist, xenophobic, and misogynist social media posts.”
The Philadelphia Eagles safety continues, “We have to address police brutality and over-policing of back and brown communities head on, It’s time to give people a voice. The new appointment gives the community a new chance to move forward.”
