Omar Gooden, who plays the wild, young gangsta Sweet Pea, in John Singleton’s Baby Boy is preparing to release a rap album. The actor has a crew called Legion, a group hoping to drop their freshman album sometime this year. With the first single, "Mamacitas," the group has received some airplay on commercial radio. The 24 year-old Gooden comes from an acting and musical family. Brother and actor Cuba played in Singleton’s first movie, Boyz N the Hood, and his father was a member of the 70’s soul group Main Ingredient. Omar has played on shows like Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper and Ghost Dad.
