The album has been anticipated since Dre announced that Rakim was signed to his imprint over two years ago. Dre is excited to be working with Rakim, crediting Rakim with the reason he is still into hip-hop today. Expect the best from Dre, he said that he is going to get into the studio and make Rakim’s album the best one he has ever made. According to Rakim’s management, the album will feature production from Dr. Dre, Hi-Tek and DJ Premier among others. Rakim recently taped spots on Russell Simmons’ Def Poetry Jam, reciting his old lyrics to the crowd’s delight. In the coming months, fans can expect to see more of the God emcee. He is featured on labelmate female singer Truth Hurt’s first single and video, "Addictive." "Oh My God" is scheduled for a summer release.
