Spoken Word Tour Kicks Off - AllHipHop

Spoken Word Tour Kicks Off

The "Underground Poets Railroad" spoken word tour kicked off last week. The show features poetry acts that vary from city to city as well as hip-hop artists Doug E. Fresh, Biz Markie, Professor Griff and DJ Jazzy Jeff. The tour kicked off Hattiesburg, Mississippi and will stop in Atlanta, Washington D.C. and New York. Producers of the show held a concert last year that was hosted by P.Diddy in New Orleans. That concert featured Jermaine Dupri, Fabolous and others and footage of the concert will be combined to create a spoken word/hip-hop tribute film. The proceeds of the film will benefit the families of African-American firefighters who died during the September 11th terrorist attacks against America.
