Swae Lee Talks Not Getting Recognized For His Work On Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode”

It looks like the hitmaker now has a different view on providing his “someone said” lyrics.

(AllHipHop News) Khalif “Swae Lee” Brown is a titan of the charts. Swae Lee and Post Malone’s “Sunflower” climbed to #1 on the Hot 100 in 2019, and the single’s video amassed more than 800 million YouTube views.

The Rae Sremmurd member also contributed vocals to a No. 1 record in 2018 when Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode” reached the pinnacle of the Hot 100. However, Swae Lee seemed to feel a way about being left out of the music video which featured Scott and Drake.

“Someone said they didn’t see Swae Lee in the sicko mode video yea I noticed that too,” tweeted the Mississippi-raised crooner a year ago.

Even though Swae Lee earned two Grammy nominations for “Sicko Mode” (Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song), there are still listeners that are unaware of his involvement with the smash. DJ Whoo Kid recently asked Brown about not getting properly recognized for assisting Scott on the Astroworld track.

“Shout out to the boys,” said Swae, referring to Travis Scott and Drake. “I don’t really… The game is gonna do what it do. I just take everything, learn from it, note it. It’s a blessing to just be part of such big tracks.”

He continued, “At the end of the day, it’s a win-win situation. I don’t take nothing personally. Who knows what agenda they had for the song. I’m apart of the motherf*cker, so I ain’t tripping… I spoke my piece and left it at that.”

Swae Lee is not a stranger to big tracks. His writing credits also include Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles,” Beyoncé’s “Formation,” French Montana’s “Unforgettable,” and other hits.
