Texas Urban Music Summit set to take place June 27-29 in Dallas, TX. The Texas Urban Music Summit set to take place June 27-29 in Dallas, TX The Texas Urban Music Summit, presented by the CORE DJ’s, Avery Johnson’s North Texas Nissan, 100 Entertainment and Texas U.M.S President/CEO Aleshia Steele, is an event designed to educate and create opportunities to empower artists in the Texas market and surrounding areas. Billed as the “premiere music event of the South,” the education-based Texas Urban Music Summit will commence June 27-29th in Dallas, Texas.

 

The three day event will offer panel discussions, artist showcases, and networking mixers.

 

The panel discussions, moderated by industry experts, will focus on important issues such as how to copyright music, selling music online, and how to network with radio stations and DJs.

 

Lending their expertise to these classes will be Rap Coalition founder Wendy Day and Hip-Hop star Chamillionaire. Summit coordinator and CEO Aleshia Steele spoke on the importance of this summit for new artists.

 

“It is my goal to educate independent artists about the music industry,” Steele said. “With knowledge comes power, and if we can assist these artists by providing them with the information they need, we are setting them up to achieve success within this industry.”

 

Vendors will also be present to assist fledgling artists with music related software and products.

 

The artist showcases will feature appearances from Paul Wall and Pitbull, with listening “suites” set up throughout the venue to accommodate the various styles of Texas Hip-Hop.

 

The summit will also hold a remembrance memorial for deceased and influential Texas MCs.

 

In Conjunction, Tonya Terelle- CEO of Lavish Models, will present a Model Day hosted by Lavish Models & Core Models.  This event marks the first time a music event has dedicated a full day to educating models on the various aspects of the fashion and entertainment industry. Southern RaptressTrina will be speaking on the Model Day Panel.  The Model Day will consist of various activities ranging from brunches/mixers, a panel, fashion show featuring Trina’s new clothing line. 

 

Those set to be honored include Pimp C of UGK, DJ Screw, Hawk, and Fat Pat.

 

This event marks the first time a music event has dedicated a full day to educating models on the various aspects of the fashion and entertainment industry.
