Wyclef Sends Blessings To Late Kenny Rogers

Wyclef Jean performed a Bob Marley song for Kenny Rogers on Instagram.

(AllHipHop News) Due to the Coronavirus, many artists including Wyclef Jean, are unable to go on tour.

Wyclef recently announced on Instagram, that because he can’t tour, he will spend 12 days performing an acoustic version of his songs new and old, on IGTV.

He wrote on Instagram, “Breaking News !!being that I can’t tour for now I am bringing my fans one acoustic song a day for the next 12 days starting tomorrow 10AM Eastern time all the classic wyclef and some new tunes !!!!!”

In honor of the passing of country superstar Kenny Rogers on March 20, Wyclef dedicated an Instagram performance to the late icon.

Wyclef produced “Ghetto Supastar (That is What you Are)” by Pras, featuring Ol’ Dirty Bastard and Mya, which samples Rogers and Dolly Parton’s “Islands in the Stream”. He also did a dubplate for “Gamblers Remix”.

“Before I start working out, definitely wanna send a RIP to Kenny Rogers. I got a chance to work with him with my sound system, refugee sound system” said the artist. “What better way to pay tribute than to play a dubplate for y’all. Exclusive vibes, Kenny Rogers, RIP Forever man.” He then played a snippet of the song with Rogers shouting out Wyclef Jean and singing a special rendition of “Islands in the Stream”. Wyclef then performed Bob Marley’s#### record “No Woman, No Cry”. Watch the special tribute below.
