(AllHipHop News) New rap star XXXTentacion is facing more legal hurdles in a brutal sexual assault case.
XXXTentacion, born Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, is facing charges that include aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, and witness-tampering.
Prosecutors claim the rapper called his ex-girlfriend shortly after he was charged in October of 2016, and attempted to intimidate the woman and a friend.
According to an affidavit obtained by Pitchfork , prosecutors have separated the cases.
In fact, the witness intimidation charge is a more serious crime than the abuse he is accused of, which includes attempting to penetrate the woman with a barbecue pitchfork and beating and strangling her while she was pregnant.
According to Pitchfork, the witness tampering charges could land the rapper a life sentence.
Investigators in the case also believe XXXTentacion or someone affiliated with him submitted a phony affidavit to the court, claiming the woman was seeking to drop all of the charges against the rapper.
The next hearing in the case is set for December 15th.
