Drake Beats Beyonce’s ‘Lemonade’ For #1 Spot On iTunes, Projected to Double In Streams

Following the release of his highly anticipated project Views, Drake has earned the number 1 spot on the Top Artists chart on iTunes. According to the INQUISITR, Drake’s project had beaten out Beyonce’s critically acclaimed project Lemonade for the top spot. Views released Friday exclusively on Apple Music and iTunes, earning more than 630k streams in only one day. Although the album has already reached quick success, Views is projected to double the amount of Lemonade. Another article stated that the project is predicted to make over 150 million streams in its first week, long before the official retail version of the Views hit stores.

Beyoncé premiered her latest work, Lemonade, in a stunning one hour film on HBO which became the #1 trending topic on social media for hours. The film is also included in the iTunes version. While Lemonade is listed in Apple’s iTunes store, listeners should not expect to be able to stream the project on Apple Music. According to reports, Bey’s 6th studio LP will only be offered for streaming via Tidal. The Houston bred superstar is a part owner of the entertainment company along with her husband Jay Z.
