2 Chainz Reveals Final Tracklisting For “Based On A T.R.U. Story”; Features Include Kanye West, Scarface, The-Dream And More
(AllHipHop News) With two weeks remaining until his solo debut album is released, Def Jam recording artist 2 Chainz has revealed the final tracklisting for both the standard and deluxe editions of Based On A T.R.U Story. The 13-track standard edition of 2 Chainz’ album will feature guest appearances from the likes of Drake, Kanye West, The-Dream, Nicki Minaj, Dolla Boy, Mike Posner, Scarface, John Legend and Cap-1. The Based On A T.R.U. Story deluxe edition will include three additional tracks: “Countdown” featuring Chris Brown, “Like Me”, “I Feel Good”, and “Riot.” Production on the album is expected to come from Mike Will, Sonny Digital, Kanye West, T-Minus, Lex Luger, Hit-Boy, Lil Jon, and many more. 2 Chainz, who is currently on the road opening for Nicki Minaj on the second leg of her “Pink Friday Tour,” will be hitting the road for his own solo tour beginning on August 30 in Norfolk, Virginia. 2 Chainz Speaks On Kanye West’s Involvement With His “Based On A T.R.U. Story” Artwork
(AllHipHop News) There is an interesting story behind the artwork for 2 Chainz’ Def Jam debut, Based On A T.R.U. Story, and how exactly it was created. In an exclusive interview with Billboard, 2 Chainz revealed that he enlisted the help of Kanye West’s design and creative company, DONDA, to create the artwork which simply features a black background and two gold chains. “Kanye and I share a similar vision and think along the same lines creatively,” 2 Chainz told Billboard. “When it came time to develop the imagery for my project, I trusted him and his team at DONDA to get the job done and communicate my sentiments. They were the first people I thought of.” “Their team is unprecedented,” he continued. “Expect next level imagery, sonics, and stage performance. This is curated art. The Louvre of rap.” 2 Chainz can currently be heard on the last verse of G.O.O.D. Music’s platinum-selling single “Mercy” from the collective’s Cruel Summer compilation due in stores on August 7. The first single from 2 Chainz’ debut, “No Lie” featuring Drake, currently sits at #6 on the “Hip-Hop and R&B” chart. His album is set for release on August 14.

(AllHipHop News) The list of performers for the 2012 BET Awards continues to grow with the recent addition of the G.O.O.D. Music ensemble, which will include Kanye West, Kid Cudi, and Pusha T, among others. Last week, it was announced that 2 Chainz, Big Sean, and Usher had also been tapped to perform. Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown will also hit the stage with more performers to be announced in the next few weeks. The Samuel L. Jackson-hosted 2012 BET Awards will air live on July 3 from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California. A$AP Rocky has revealed dates for an upcoming 13-stop international festival tour that will see the Harlem native hit countries like England, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, and of course the United States. Beginning on July 5, Rocky and the A$AP Mob will perform at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark and continue to rock sets at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, the OVO Fest in Toronto, and Rock the Bells in Mountain View, California. The group, which is signed to Polo Grounds/RCA, is putting the finishing touches on their soon-to-be-released mixtape compilation. On August 14, two days after the tour ends, the rapper who is currently opening for Drake on the “Club Paradise Tour,” will release his debut solo album, Based On A T.R.U. Story.
