Limp Bizkit’s Wes Borland Speaks On Group’s Cash Money Debut “Stampede Of the Disco Elephant”
(AllHipHop News) Since the news broke regarding Limp Bizkit’s signing to Cash Money Records in late Febuary, not much has been said from either party on when or what to expect the group’s inaugural album with the label. Some light has finally been shed on the progress of Limp Bizkit’s seventh studio album, the tentatively titled Stampede of the Disco Elephant, thanks to guitarist Wes Borland. Borland told Billboard, “We’ve got a bunch of songs, and we’re not at the point where I can go, ‘Yes, the record is starting to form’ and see where all of this is going. Right now, we’re recording songs, and it’s been all over the place as far as what it is we’re doing. They don’t make sense together yet. “We’re planing on doing songs with them more geared to what they have to offer as far as their producers and what their expectations are for what we’re doing,” Borland continued. “At the same time all those artists on Cash Money are starting to discover rock and put an electric guitar element into their songs, and I’m really itching to get my foot in the door and be part of that.” To date, the only song that has been heard since Limp Bizkit’s signing with Cash Money came in the form of the Lil Wayne-assisted “Ready To Go,” which was released in March. In addition to the update on the group’s album, Borland told Billboard that Lil Wayne has already reached out to him about playing on his own forthcoming release, I Am Not A Human Being 2.

It was announced earlier today (June 15) that Cash Money has added DJ Greg Street to their always expanding roster of talent. “I have never once doubted the power of Birdman and Slim, and the Cash Money empire as a whole,” Street said in a statement. “My goal is to add in making Cash Money Records the first billion dollar independent label by putting major plays together for the brand, in and outside of selling records.”Cash Money president Bryan “Birdman” Williams said of Street, “Slim and I collaborated with him so often, we decided the next step would be to extend a deal to him that would allow him to bring his unique voice and perspective to both our label and publishing company.” In recent months, Cash Money has added Limp Bizkit, Christina Milian, Busta Rhymes and DJ Khaled to their stable of artists. The label’s next releases are set to come from Bow Wow with his seventh studio album, Underrated, and Lil Wayne with I Am Not A Human Being 2. ONE Distribution recently announced that footwear maker Supra would be entering into an exclusive partnership with rapper Lil Wayne. The deal will result in the release of a new footwear collection that is set to be inspired, designed, and overseen by both Wayne and the shoe-making company. Supra is set to debut the new line at the Project Trade Show in Las Vegas at the end of August according to High Snobiety.

The newest edition to Baby and Slim’s lineup is Jacksonville, Florida bred rock group Limp Bizkit, headed by Fred Durst. In an interview with 98.7 KISS FM’s KISSing After Dark with Lenny Green, Lil’ Wayne confirmed that Cash Money signed Limp Bizkit and was considering adding Ashanti to the roster as well. “Actually yea, as far as Cash Money we are always listening and looking at acts, so honestly its like just the other day I hear about someone new signing to Cash Money,” Wayne told Lenny Green. “Not speaking about R&B, its like just for example, the other day I just found out Limp Bizkit signed to Cash oney. They’re signing everybody with Cash Money, everyone’s getting a chance.
