Lupe Fiasco Removed From Inaugural Performance After Anti-Obama Rant

(AllHipHop News) Last night (January 20), Lupe Fiasco was removed from the stage at Sunday’s StartUp RockOn concert at the Hamilton Live in Washington, D.C., as part of the weekend’s inaugural festivities. In an anti-Obama performance, Lupe Fiasco performed his 2011 track “Words I Never Said,” in what has been described was a 30 min rant. Taking his stance on the United States and Israeli conflict, and stating that Glenn Back and Rush Limbaugh were racists, Lupe ripped President Obama for what he viewed as a lack of support for the Gaza strip and other issues close to his heart. “And these the same people supposedly telling us the truth/ Limbaugh is a racist, Glenn beck is a racist, Gaza strip was getting bombed, Obama didn’t say sh–/ That’s why I ain’t vote for him, next one either/ I’m part of the problem, my problem is I’m peaceful,” Lupe rapped. While many have speculated that Lupe was kicked off the stage for his political beliefs, in a statement released by HyperVocal, the event’s organizers say they were dissatisfied with his overall performance and that it was time for the next act. “This was not about his opinions. Instead, after a bizarrely repetitive, jarring performance that left the crowd vocally dissatisfied, organizers decided to move on to the next act,” HyperVocal said in a statement to the press. Lupe is well-known to be outspoken with his political beliefs, as Lupe has been quoted in the past stating that he refuses to pledge allegiance to the United States flag due to his belief that it goes against the Muslim faith. In the past Lupe Fiasco has even gone as far as to call President Barack Obama a terrorist and refused to vote in last November’s elections.

Beyonce and Mother Tina Knowles Design T-Shirts for Obama’s “Runway To Win” Initiative

Sixteen-time Grammy Award-winner and new mom Beyonce Knowles-Carter, along with her mother Tina Knowles, are just two of 27 designers who have created unique apparel in support of President Barack Obama’s 2012 presidential re-election as part of the Runway to Win initiative. The initiative, which is one of the top Obama fundraisers in the country, was crated by Anna Wintour who is an editor at Vogue. The idea was to bring 27 designers together and let them create their own items for “sale” such as T-shirts, bags, hats, and more, all with images and logos from Obama with all profits going to the re-election campaign for the current President of the United States. On behalf of Runway to Win, bags were created from designers like Tory Burch, Vera W###, Derek Lam, Marcus Wainwright and more. A variety of t-shirts were designed Jason Wu, Rachel Roy, Marc Jacobs, Russell Simmons, Sean John, and of course, Beyonce and Tina Knowles. All of the items for sale are priced between $40 and $95. Check out the full “Runway to Win” store and purchase any of the items created here.

Hip-Hop Rumors: T.I. Has Album Title Crisis! Soulja Boy Says He Didn’t Do It! Obamas vs. Kardashians!?

T.I. and the Case of the Album Titles… The first of two album titles I’m debating is “Kill the King” because in all that I’ve gone through I’ve observed how people respond to my circumstances, and I always wonder ‘Why y’all coming at me like this?’ But I thought, ‘How do you expect them to act?’ Life is a game of chess and the object is to kill the king. If you anoint yourself king, you have made yourself a target. The second one is self-explanatory – “Trouble.”” This comes from a recent interview Tip did with Rolling Stone magazine that you can check out in its entirety here. Kill the King or Trouble, which one are you feeling? Obamas vs. Kardashians!? Not exactly…the First Lady recently sat down for an interview and revealed that despite not really letting their daughters watch TV or surf the internet during the week unless it’s school related, she does occasionally watch Keeping Up With the Kardashians with them to the chagrin of their father, President Barack Obama. She said, “Barack really thinks some of the Kardashians – when they watch that stuff – he doesn’t like that as much, but I sort of feel like if we’re talking about it, and I’m more concerned with how they take it in – what did you learn when you watched that. And if they’re learning the right lessons, like, that was crazy, then I’m like, okay.” Living in this digital age where everyone always has an eye on them, it’s kind of surprising that there haven’t been any attempts at an “Obama Show.” Who would win in a battle royale…the Obamas or the Kardashians? Soulja Boy Posts $10,000 Bond! After being arrested yesterday in Georgia along with four other men for possession of weed, a gun, and almost $50,000 in cash in a vehicle, Mr. Boy plead not guilty and was released after posting a $10,000 bond. Did he do it? I think sooooo. Peter Spirer, director of the movie that Soulja Boy is in that was released yesterday said, “”I’m not sure how this will affect the movie … Hopefully he gets out from this situation to get his movie out everywhere like he wanted.” If everywhere means bargain bins and shoddy entertainment sites than I’d say you’re on the right path friend!
