West Coast Rapper Celly Cel Publishes First Novel This November

(AllHipHop News) Bay Area rapper Celly Cel is preparing to release his first ever novel titled “Big Faces.” The rapper, who has worked with a number of artists including E 40, Spice 1, B-Legit and others, became interested it writing street literature after becoming a fan of Donald Goines. Celly Cel was introduced to Donald Goines’ literary works during a brief stint in county jail, where he read Goines’ book “White Man’s Justice, Black Man’s Grief.” According to Celly Cel, although the book is fictional, portions of the of the story are based on his real-life experiences. Big Faces follows the story of four young men in community college, who steal luxury cars at night. The group, known as “The Stun Gun Crew,” managed to elude the police until a heist worth millions goes wrong. All the while, the mob is seeking to recover a stolen briefcase along the way. Celly Cel’s first novel “Big Faces” is due in stores on November 8.

Police From Five Police Departments Called Over Meek Mill Show

(AllHipHop News)Police from five different departments were called in to disburse a rowdy crowd that had gathered to see Meek Mill in Connecticut over the weekend. Meek hit the stage at Club Lush, a venue that holds about 600 people in Danbury, Connecticut. According to local reports, thousands of people came out to see the rapper, who was extremely late for his performance. At least a dozen police cars from five different districts were called in to quell a number of disturbances that had broken out as a result of the rapper’s tardiness. “There was a huge crowd there to hear a hot performer,” Mayor Mark Boughton told the Stamford Advocate. “From my understanding, he was really late. This was a very popular entertainer who belongs in a venue that can accommodate 2,000 or 3,000 people, not 600. Throw in alcohol and that age group…” Several people were arrested, while two people were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. In more positive news, Meek Mill hosted a coat drive in his hometown of Philadelphia over the weekend as well. The rapper was at 24th and Diamond where he and several associates passed out coats to those in need, in preparation for the cold weather. “Wen people do s**t for da hood dey wanna call the news for publicity. We just put in da work on da low,” Meek Mill tweeted today (October 23).

BREAKING NEWS: President Barack Obama Announces Iraq War Is Over

(AllHipHop News) President Barack Obama announced that the United States war in Iraq is officially over. The President made the announcement today (October 21), from the White House just moments ago. President Obama told media outlets that all United States troops will be out of Iraq by the end of the year, after a nine-year war in the country. “After nine years, America’s war in Iraq will be over,” President Barack Obama said. “As we mark this important milestone, we’re moving into a new phase in our relationship between the United States and Iraq. As of January 1, and in keeping with our strategic framework agreement with Iraq, it will be a normal relationship between two sovereign nations.” According to the President, the withdrawal will begin immediately, allowing more and most troops to be home by the holidays. According to the President, only a small number of troops will remain after December 31, only to guard the United States Embassy, which is the biggest U.S. Embassy in the world. A total of 4,483 American troops have been killed since the war started in nine years, while over 100,000 Iraqi’s lost their lives during the conflict.

Historic Quad Studios To Reopen In New York City This Weekend

(AllHipHop News) A legendary recording studio that is steeped in Hip-Hop folk lore will reopen this weekend in New York City. Quad Studios will reopen their doors to unveil a brand new recording studio next weekend, in a newly renovated space in Times Square. The recording studio is the site where legendary rap star Tupac Shakur was originally shot in 1994, setting off a chain of events that would eventually lead to the deaths of both Shakur (1996) and Biggie Smalls (1997). Outside of the infamous incident involving Tupac, the Quad Studios was already historical studio that produced dozens of gold and platinum album over the past 30 years. Artists like Rihanna, Coldplay, Whitney Houston, Jay-Z, LL Cool J, Shabba Ranks, Gerald Levert, Bob Dylan and others have recorded in the studio. Derrick Rose hooked up with Chicago rap star Common on Saturday in Chicago to celebrate the launch of his new adidas shoe, the adiZero Rose 2. Rose signed autographs at a local Foot Locker and then headed to the James Jordan Boys & Girls Club for the “Run with D Rose” event. The news comes just one day after Rick Ross suffered from two seizures in one day. In the first incident, a Delta Airlines flight was forced to return to Fort Lauderdale, when the rap star fell unconscious on board the plane. EMT’s revived Rick Ross, who was released from a local hospital. The rapper then boarded a private jet bound for a gig in Memphis, Tennessee. He was forced to cancel a show with Yo Gotti last night, after he suffered a second seizure on the private jet. That flight was grounded in Birmingham, Alabama, where he received treatment at a local hospital. According to TMZ.com, Ross’ reps said the rapper will make a scheduled performance at North Carolina A&T’s homecoming tonight. A number of rappers, artists and celebrities will take part in the 3rd annual “I Will Graduate Day Celebration.” The event, which takes place October 26 at the Fashion Institute of Technology’s Haft Auditorium, aims to encourage students to pursue higher education. Rappers like Jim Jones and Maino will make appearances, while popular TV/radio personality Sway Calloway will be among the celebrities that will be present, to encourage students to graduate from high school this year. Outkast rapper Big Boi appeared in court on Thursday (October 13), where he pleaded guilty to drug charges stemming from an arrest in August. Big Boi, Antwan Patton, was arrested as he passed through a security checkpoint after disembarking from a cruise a ship, after drug sniffing dogs reacted to the rapper’s luggage. A search uncovered a cigarette with marijuana residue, ecstasy tablets, and residue of MDMA, the active ingredient in Ecstasy, resulting in four felony charges. Since he pleaded guilty, he must complete 30 hours of community service, submit to drug testing for three months and donate $2,000 to charity.
