Hip-Hop Rumors: Eve Says Stevie J “Couldn’t Even See This”
If you watch VH1’s “Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta”, you know that Stevie J is one hot mess of a train wreck. He is openly cheating on his baby mama, Mimi, with his hot Latina artist, Joseline Hernandez. The dude also makes a fool out of himself on each and every episode. It looks like rapper Eve has caught an episode or two of the show, and is thanking her lucky stars that she didn’t stay with Stevie. You see, back in the ’90s, when Stevie was actually known for producing hits, he and Eve were one of the first Hip-Hop couples and were even engaged for a short time. Well, Eve did a recent interview where she spoke on her relationship with Stevie, and said that the woman she is now is totally different from the girl she was when she with Stevie. She revealed that her ex “couldn’t even see this” right now, and that she is “thankful” they broke up. On how she defines the ‘love’ between her and Stevie back then: You know what…that was a learning experience. You meet people all the time. We just happen to fall in love. Umm, but thankfully I knew better, I know better, I am happily in love now. And the girl now (referring to herself) he couldn’t even see this. I would be like, “I’m sorry, we don’t speak the same language!” But you know, it is what it is….that’s life. Sometimes you meet people who aren’t great for you but thankfully I am in a different place. On things she would not put up with now that she is older and knows better: When I was younger I didn’t question things but now I am annoying! Like if something doesn’t feel right speak up! If you feel like you are being lied to speak up! If you feel like Sexually he is trying to push you to fast speak up. And let me tell you something. Anybody that knows your worth it will stick around. They might not talk to you about it, they may talk to you about it but if they argue with you or if they call you a name or if they roll out they are not meant to be in your life anyways…. Eve Returns To Her Philly Roots During The Reebok Classics Hip-Hop Concert Series
(AllHipHop News) Philadelphia’s own femcee/actress, Eve, performed at Kung Fu Necktie this week as part of the Reebok Classics Hip-Hop legends concert series. After taking time to visit her old high school, Eve took to the stage in front of a sold-out crowd of friends and family members, performing her classic songs from her stint as a member of Ruff Ryders and over the course of her career. “The Philadelphia music scene was always a part of my life, I guess from the time that I was 11 or 12. Maybe even younger than that is when I started doing talent shows and things like that,” Eve explained about here growth as an MC in Philadelphia. The homecoming experience was captured in a short documentary chronicling her career and her visit to her high school in Philly. “Martin Luther King High [School], you know I had fun, but I think more than anything musically, that’s where I kinda honed a lot my cypher skills,” said Eve. “Like every lunch time there was a cypher, every lunch time, and I stayed at other people’s lunch times so I could battle them. So if it did anything for me, I think it was good for my music. That’s I think when the city started to notice me, the blonde girl that rapped – that was my name.” Earlier this week, legendary lyricist Rakim also performed as part of the Reebok Classics series at Joe’s Pub in New York City. After Nearly Six-Year Absence, DMX To Mark Official Return With “The Weigh In EP”
(AllHipHop News) On May 15, a little over a month before DMX delivers his seventh studio album, Undisputed, the rapper will release a 10-track EP titled The Weigh In. The Weigh In EP has features from artists such as Snoop Dogg and Tyrese and also includes an interlude featuring Lil Wayne. At press time, confirmed production on the project comes from Fredwreck Moog, Rich Kidd, and X’s longtime collaborator, Dame Grease. The EP marks one of the first projects from X since his last album, Year Of the Dog…Again, was released more than five years ago in 2006. As was reported last week, DMX’s new album, Undisputed, is set for release on June 26, while a visual for the album’s first single, “I Don’t Dance” featuring Machine Gun Kelly is reportedly dropping shortly. DMX Shoots Video For New Rap Single “Tell Your Friends”
DMX got in front of the camera for an official video shoot earlier this week. The rapper, who has been arrested over 30 times in his life, said he is done getting in trouble. The video is the for the song “Tell Your Friends,” which features New Orleans group N.O.4. The shoot for the single was filmed in Mesa, Arizona with models, big lights and the Ruff Ryder motorcade. DMX wasn’t overwhelmed with the environment, he was right at home despite his absence from the big screen due to legal issues. “I’m excited just to be a part of it, a good song, good music,” DMX told Phoenix’s Fox News 10. “I’ve definitely grown, and I’ve definitely gotten better, if that’s change, then yes I’ve changed.” Although his most recent arrest came in August of this year for speeding, DMX said he was done with trouble. “I’m in my element, you know?” an excited DMX told the Fox News 10. “I enjoy it and like I said I am blessed to be able to be getting paid for something that I love.”
