There has been a lot of speculation that Brooklyn Hip Hop representative Bobby Shmurda could be released from prison as early as today (February 23). The “Hot N####” hitmaker further excited his fans when a verified Instagram account using his name became active.

A clip from the 1990 movie King of New York was recently posted on the @realbobbyshmurdags9 page, and it already amassed more than 4 million views and over 1 million likes.  The IG video’s caption read, “How the fucc y’all forget about me [face with one eyebrow raised emoji]?”

Plus, Shmurda wrote a message to his followers that was posted on the @realbobbyshmurdags9’s Instagram Story. The 26-year-old GS9 collective member wrote:

My team created this Instagram page after my original page was hacked but thanks to my dedicated fans I manage to get my page verified and also 1 [million] followers without ever being active on this page. Thank you for remaining loyal and for riding this six year sentence out with me. I love you all and look forward to seeing you soon.

Sincerely, Bod boy Bobby [shushing face emoji] ah ahh ahhh.

In 2016, Bobby Shmurda (born Ackquille Jean Pollard) pled guilty to conspiracy and weapons charges. He was originally sentenced to seven years. Pollard reportedly agreed to more time in state prison in exchange for his longtime friend/co-defendant, Rowdy “Chad Marshall” Rebel, receiving a reduced sentence in his own plea deal.
